It is December first and officially my favorite time of the year. I have been in a little funk these last couple of weeks, and I am hoping for my holiday cheer to return any moment.
All I think about almost all the time is going home next year - I am so ready to escape for a little while and to spend some much needed time with my parents and my brother.
But I also refuse to let the excitement for the trip, distract me from Christmas - because we love love love Christmas in our house.
So this morning as I sat down with a cup of tea, I decided to jot down a few things we can to do this December.
Simplicity, freedom, and no stress is the goal here.
01 . Set up the Christmas tree.
02.
Step up our game, and decorate other places in the house.
03. Take a picture with Santa.
04. Make hot chocolate, and enjoy the light show down the street.
05. Make Christmas fudge.
06. Read "The Night Before Christmas."
07. Decorate gingerbread houses.
08. Watch Elf.
09. Eat peppermint/candy cane ice cream.
10. Watch The Family Stone.
11. Make Christmas tree decorations.
12.
Make a gingerbread loaf.
13. Make homemade eggnog.
14. Do Christmas crafts with the kids.
15. Make & decorate ginger cookies OR short bread cookie - which ever sounds good at the time ;)
Bringing back the Christmas cheer!
