Also this little town, out in the middle of nowhere, is some what starting to feel a little more like home. It has been such a long, and grueling process (especially for me) - it is still a healing process, but I am so glad that things are starting to look up.
We have finally joined a little small group with the church we are attending, and I am so glad we did, it seems like there might be some "normal" people here in town, and it has us all kinds of exciting.
I am so grateful for this time of settling into life, and finally feeling a little more at home each day.
We have done a bunch of fun things this week (I seriously need to start carrying my camera with me again - I use to be so much better at that.)
As usual our days are pretty much consumed by school in the mornings, being outside and gardening as soon as we can, and somewhere in between food - always good food.
We finally closed up the bean section, and decided to put some in soil, and see what happens... fingers crossed!
We also finally got our ants in the mail - we have been waiting since February. Nate was absolutely horrified that I ordered some ants in the mail after he spend many months trying to rid our yard of them.
But in the end we all agreed this is way cool, and such an awesome learning experience. The kids also took the liberty to call them "The Snootsy Family" - yeah I know - it makes no sense.
We have been watching them diligently and it is way cool to see them make all the tunnels.
Our weekly library trips are still continuing - I hope my kids will grow into truly loving reading and a good book like I do.
I still love going in the morning when the sun shines right through the massive windows, and it is all quiet.
We have been reading so many books on all the different science themes, and it has been such a joy.
Also shelves with hundreds of books makes me so so happy!
Our vegetable patch is coming along beautifully, and it has been a family project for sure.
Everyone has had a hand in keeping our seedlings alive.
Also digging and sifting (good-bye weeds and grass) all the sand, and then filling up the beds.
We finally were able to transplant some of our seedlings - I am hopeful for a successful garden. It has been such a fun process. We are building a few more beds - but these will get us started.
Also let's take a moment to appreciate Millie cat - she is one of the best things that ever happened to us. She loves it when everyone is outside, and the moment you sit down, she is ready to snuggle.
Spring is also meant for chalk - lots and lots of chalk.
and little drawings on the back porch.
also ice cream is always welcomed with lots of excitement.
and mud playing. This is seriously their favourite thing to do, and it will keep them busy for hours and house on end.
Crazy story.
Everyone who knows my Hayleigh, knows it is almost impossible for her to be completely quiet. Well this girl managed to stalk a butterfly in the garden, and somehow convinced it to hang out on her finger with her - for more then thirty minutes. Totally bizarre.
But so so cool!

Mud and chocolate face, because that is how we roll. |
No week is complete without some sort of morning baking ritual.
and a cozy breakfast.
This cat - so acts like she owns this place. My bed is no longer my own. I have to admit though she makes me so happy. Who would of thought that the wild cat Ian tamed two years ago would be such an amazing pet for our family.
and weekly beauties.
I am so blessed, to have such a beautiful life. Sometimes I tend to forget to focus on the littlest things that make me happiest - all of the above.
Happy Tuesday!
