We are totally in love with the Spring weather lately - all we want to do is head outside and be in the sunshine.
Our routine is finally being perfected, and it seems like everyone is thriving having routine - I personally am I creature of habit - so it makes life so much easier.
We are still on our cozy Sunday morning breakfast kicks. It seriously is my all time favourite. We emerge from our rooms slowly and softly, turn on some music in the kitchen, the kids like to watch a little bit of TV, and I create a fun breakfast with Nate. We hang around the table for a while, soaking it all in.
We then sip on coffee (with way to milk cream and butter) for a little while, before we head to church.
Millie has been enjoying Spring as well, anxiously waiting for me in the mornings to open all the windows wide, to cool of the house, and to let in some fresh air.
She will seriously hangout in the window like this for hours, and hours, and hours.
She is the best pet for our family - I love her so much.
Spring accompanies so many things that we look forward to - and I love as it all comes together.
Fresh berries are starting to pop up everywhere.... we love, love, love our berries.
Watermelon. Hayleigh lives for watermelon. It will be even better in the Summer.
Little bugs are starting to emerge everywhere (especially as we are working on the garden) and the kids are loving it. They catch them (gently - no one gets harmed) and then we study them for a little while.
This little ladybug hung out with Hayleigh forever! She of course loved every single minute of it.
I was a little hesitant of homeschooling at first (I always wanted to do it, but as Ian is getting closer and closer to school age, it has become more intimidating,) but we absolutely love it so much. This curriculum is so much fun, everyone loves it so much.
Our favourite day is - science day (thank you homeschool for keeping up our supply of fresh blooms, just so we can do eventually do experiments,) no complaining here, I am a flower junkie.
These tulips where perfect to study all the different parts of the flower.
Besides for grocery buying day, well and science day, library day is my favourite day of the week. I love to go in the morning when it is quiet, and the sun rays stream in through the big windows.
Since Ian is reading, he just can't get enough of it (yay for bookworms) so our weekly trips have become more like a ritual. One that I love so so much.
If you know me well, one of my favorite things to do is paging through recipe books, and then I read the recipe book (front cover to back cover) - I just love all the stories people tell through food.
Anyways I have acquired a few new recipe books, and it inspires me to cook all the time. I am so grateful that the kids have changed their eating habits, and they are getting just as excited as I am, when we discover new recipes and foods. It has been a blast.
These little whole grain bars are delicious, and so easy to make. A game changer for sure.
As I have mentioned before, I am a sucker for flowers (sorry Nate) and I am also thrilled that right now our curriculum is encouraging flowers. I am also thankful for the $4 flower bins, because you can make magic happen right there.
I will leave these right here, because it is bound to make you happy!
Tomorrow is science day, I so can't wait.
Life has been good, it feels really good to finally be settling in, to have Nate home again, and to invest even more into the kids.
I have to admit I am a little sad to not be in South Africa right now, with my mama, and that I am most likely going to have to wait till next year to meet my most beautiful little niece Lara - guys she is seriously the cutest.
But even with all that, it really just feels so good to settle in, and to find our sweet groove without all the drama.
I am excited to continue our garden project this weekend, to hang out with Nate and the kids, to hopefully "indulge" in some of the wine we have acquired of the last few weeks, and of course cooking good food.
Happy weekend friends!
