The sun is shining all the time, it is warming up during the morning and it creates the most beautiful afternoons.
We were lucky to have Nate home for a few days in a row, it was so much fun.
We had slow mornings, sipping on coffee with way to much heavy cream.
Late morning breakfast, all cozy with sunlight streaming in through the living room - make everyone so happy!
Nate and I sneaked away for a little date day (while the kids visited his parents) and we were able to have lunch at our favourite little Thai spot.
We finally started to plan and actually work on our vegetable garden. We have a ton of work to do and it will take a little bit before we are done - but it feels so good to have started.
This ugly little spot is going to turn into something so beautiful, I can hardly wait.

The kids and I started the little seedlings. We invested into buy heirloom seeds so we can attempt to reseed from our harvest for next year - fun times ahead.
We decided to use cleaned out milk bottles to work as a little green house, since that is a project in the works as well. We also have a notebook that together we will be taking notes on all the things we planted, so that we can learn more.

This little ladybug seems just as excited as we are.
As soon as we were done planting the seeds - the weather of course changed and it turned out be colder during the night - so I didn't want to leave them outside since they like being warm. So we have been carrying them in and out each morning and evening, and covering them with a blanket when we go to sleep at night...
and we are so excited because after just a few days almost EVERYTHING started to sprout!
I mean seriously - how cool is that?
We have spent so much time outside - the kids are loving it.
We also have seen some beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the last week. Everything is coming to life, and everything outside is just so beautiful right now.
We also had the most delicious pizza one night - it makes me miss Italy so much. Italian pizza and American pizza is two different things, and I am so happy to have an Italian in town who makes delicious and pretty authentic Italian food. Thank you Joe's.
I have been loving the on sale section of all the flowers when we do our weekly grocery run - for some reason walking into the kitchen and seeing fresh flowers just makes me so happy.
Tulips at that - take me back to Holland already!
Weed flowers have also become a favourite - ha!
My morning happy spot - smoothies and flowers, it makes for a great day. Google the "Smoothie Project" it is a ton of fun.
Our very first batch of kombucha seems to have been a success - so fingers crossed the second batch works out to. Hello probiotics. I know it looks super gross and all, but it is actually super awesome and a great science experiment for the kids.
Also the kids kids science part of their curriculum is perfectly lining up with our gardening adventure, so we experiment 1: learning all about soil.
This curriculum has been so much fun.
It has been so nice to settling into life here, and for once everyone is happy all at the same time.
I am dying to get outside with the kids right now, so I am signing off.
I will continue to share all our gardening adventures here,
Happy Saturday!
