For the first time since we have moved back to Texas, it is actually very slowly starting to feel like home - peace and contentment is starting to settle in - I have only been waiting for this for the last two and a half years.
It is such a funny feeling - I love how light our little life finally feels - the kids are happy and thriving - and for the first time in a while I feel happy about our future and life here in the middle of nowhere.
We have big plans for the spring to finally get our vegetable garden started - the kids can so not wait.
Our food challenge with Ian is actually going pretty good - and I am so excited that they starting to try more things, and enjoying food more.
All in all life just feels right, at this moment.
We are settling in beautifully so far - maybe partly because we have and are changing our attitudes - and by the grace of God we have survived the last few year - barely - but we have survived.
The other day at the library as I was looking for books - I found this one....
it is so perfect!
Speaking of library - we have been going religiously as we finish our stack of books, and it is so beautiful and magical. Ian is loving this whole I can pretty much read thing, and I love seeing him become more and more confident in this new skill.
We normally go early in the morning, when the sunlight shines in just right - we know the librarian by now - and she is the sweetest lady.
Nate joined us for this one!
This is one of our favourite things to do.
With Valentine's Day around the corner, we have been loving all things pink and red.
The kids love to do crafts, so I always try to incorporate extra crafts around the holidays.
Ian spend the night at Nate's parents for the first time - well he spent the night away for the first time (when did he grow up so fast,) Hayleigh was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed home.
He loved it so much, and I am so excited for him - sleepovers with grandparents are the best.
We all missed him so much that we went on a little family lunch date on Sunday - and boy was the food so delicious!
It was a hit.
We also made chocolate covered marshmallows - one of our favourite treats. It is so easy to make, and they always turn out super cute.
I would recommend using high quality marshmallows (with cleaner and fewer ingredients,) high quality chocolate, and then we have been trying to avoid food dyes - so I found dye free sprinkles at a health food store. You can of course use any sprinkles but we stuck to a little Valentine's Day theme.
Look how cute they turned out!
I am so excited for Spring - I can barely contain myself!
So much excitement and new things are waiting for us - and it feels good for a change to not despise this season of out life.
Happy Weekend!
