Happy Friday!

It has been such a strange week - and today have been such strange day, according to Nate it must be because of the full moon and the fact that it is Friday the 13th.

Nate has been working pretty much all week, so the kids and I have taken the time to straighten out the house, organize a few things, and I have been diligently working on organizing all my favourite recipes into one space.  I am hoping to share a few of them over the next several weeks.

I found this awesome little binder that is such a truth - and I just fell in love with it.

thank you hayleigh for this picture - not bad for a four year old.

The kitchen is my favourite place in the  house - I can spend hours chopping beautiful fruits and veggies, simmering and stirring a hearty soup, baking something delicious, or making the best green smoothies ever.

I am so excited for this year, and to find time in the kitchen again - the kids love to help, and it has been a fun adjustment for me to include them a little more each day.

Making peace with the fact that they are growing up - and trying my best to embrace it.

We had a strange warm day one day, and while I was food prepping in the kitchen with the back doors wide open, the kids were able to play outside and explore a little.  I can't wait for the spring.

The kids collected some dandelions - and had a blast in the sunshine, and the little bit of warmth.

Though I don't have much of life here yet - I decided to start using a day planner again instead of a wall calendar.  At this point it is pretty much filled with Nate's activities (ha) since he started to work at our local EMS station here in town for some extra cash.  We are working on this adjustment - and so far it isn't that bad - I guess after last year we are just kind of use to crazy schedules.

Anyways this little day planner makes me happy - because a. it's cute b. it makes me feel a little organized and c. I like writing in pretty markers.

Yes, I know I need a life - I will be working on that ;)

It has been great in reminding me to meal plan again, and grocery dates, and little things to look forward to like date nights.

We have spend so many morning this week coloring together.  Hayleigh kind of has mad coloring skills for a four year old.

Since the whole adult coloring book thing started - I have received a few books as gifts and she has begged me for months that she wants a book like me.

I finally caved, and I am so happy I did.  She is so good at it - and it will keep her busy for for hours on end.  I love watching her meticulously staying inside of the lines, and being so proud of the end result.

I am so excited for the week, and for Nate to be home for a couple of days.  That means cooking good food together, while sipping on wine, and just hanging out together.  It is one of my favourite things to do.

So far 2017 seems to be off on a good start - touch wood.

Happy Friday!
