Black Shield

It has been one year since you Nate has been with Odessa Fire and Rescue.  It has flown by so fast.

We love the sense of normalcy that has come with it, it is familiar to us, and really all I have known since we were dating.

I am so proud of Nate.  He had to start all over in the same career field, after the military, work his way up once more.  I know at times it might have been frustrating - but I am so proud of him for staying humble, and doing his best.

It all paid off, when he was awarded rookie of the year, earlier this year, and then yesterday - he was handed his black shield.

I love his helmet's new look.

I couldn't be happier for my man.  Now we just have to make it through the rest of paramedic school.  So far we are riding this wave, just fine.

We spend a little while at the station, and the perks for being fireman kids, is you get to play on fire trucks, drag hoses, and spray water everywhere.  Oh, and you get to explore the ambulance.

The kids had a blast!

And so our journey continues.  I have no idea where we are going, but it's obvious we are going somewhere.

Congratulations Nate! Your hard work has paid off, and the kids and I could not be prouder.  I am so excited to see all the places you will go!! I love you!

Happy Saturday!
