It has been a hard transition on the kids, but they are finally somewhat ok with it, and can function normally.
This week has been particularly hard, since Nate was gone for several days in a row (normally he is at least home at night) - and then my poor Ian had to deal with a little freak stomach bug, that thank goodness only lasted for a few hours.
We are well now, so we could enjoy a few little things this week, to help time pass till Nate comes home.
#1. A couple of hours to myself on Sunday afternoon accompanied with my coloring book, freshly sharpened pencils, and Easter m&m's - to prepare myself mentally for the long week ahead. Thanks to my mother-in-law.
#2. Ian vegging out on the couch and watching TV all day, while he didn't feel well. I don't like that he was sick, but I did enjoy him being still and cuddly.
#3. Puzzle building. This is one of my favourite things - yes I am weird like that.
#4. Afternoon tea in my mug from England, reminiscing about one of my favourite trips, and missing our European travels.
#5. Make-over for the blanket rack. I have been meaning to stain it for a while, but have been so busy with other stuff. I finally did it, and I love how it turned out.
before.
after.
#6. Building lego cities, another favourite pass time.
#7. The office needed a little fleshing up - freshly painted frames, some pictures, moving a few things around, and whala, - a inspiring and comfortable place to work.
#8. Finding earthworms after the rain. My momma will be proud of Ian - he caught it all by himself.'
#9 No bake salted caramel popcorn. The weather have been cloudy and rainy, so this was the perfect combo for a lazy day catching up on some shows. We used this recipe.
We are so looking forward to this weekend, Nate will be home for three days (it so rare to have him home while we are actually awake, that we can't wait.)
We might fit in a little date, and then spend lots of time doing things our family loves, and planning our latest vacation for May! I can't wait - I miss traveling so dearly!
Happy Thursday!
