Enjoying Food Things

The weather has no officially made the shift into fall, and I am in love.  I do love summer and spring here and I do hate cold, but fall is my favorite time of the year, and though it is not as noticeable and beautiful as Germany - it is still my favourite,

We have been spending lots and lots of time in the kitchen lately, cooking, and baking - lots and lots of baking at the most random times, but those are the best times.

Some things that we have made here lately.

Apple Pie.

The most amazing chocolate cake.

Homemade pizza - always a winner with the kids.

Homemade bread.

The rest of the time has been filled with building legos - this what the living room looks like most of the time.  Some people's nightmare, by love.  Nothing makes me happier then having kids with the ability to actually play.

With the weather shift we have also been watching more movies, eating more popcorn, reading more books, building more puzzles, and simply enjoying our time together.

We have a lot going on right now, so I have been MIA lately.  I a trying to work blogging back into our routine.

Oh how I miss Germany so much, it really feels like are never going to settle into life here, around every corner stupid drama appears, around every corner it feels like every is just demanding so much.

We are working so hard to get back to the simplicity of life we once knew, no drama, no fuss, and no constant intrusion into every single decision we try to make for our family.

Hopefully one day, and one day soon we will experience the Germany feel again, I would go back in a heart beat - to the place we I felt the safest, the place where all who matter was the four of us - a girl can dream, right?

For now we are starting "school" again, Ian is starting to master letter sounds, and hopefully soon he will be on level one reading, Hayleigh is mastering the scissors (it's nerve wrecking at times) and just art in general.

We are adjusting to Nate's rigid school schedule now - he is taking a few classes in preparation for paramedic school come January.

Life is so crazy, but as long as the four of us stick together we will be just fine.

Happy Friday!
