I love how laid back they are, that we lounge around at the breakfast table in our jammies and just talk and hang out, that they are super easy going, and when nap time calls for the kids, we all take an afternoon nap (well everyone, that is my time to catch up on some work) but that is ok - just knowing everyone is here - makes my heart happy.
This week we recovered from the cave hike - everyone was stiff, sore, and tired.
Our week in pictures (the ones I managed to take)
Rain puddles or in this case, a little river. We love thunderstorms.
Movie afternoon, with our favourite South African candies. Nothing like a lazy movie afternoon, on a very hot summer day. We love doing this often.
Lego building. We are official Lego junkies, and have more pieces than I care to number. This is one of our favourite things to do. Hayleigh is learning to follow in her big brother's steps, and she is learning to read the Lego instructions. It is super cute.
My dad is great at this, and the kids love it. That is all Ian wants to do with him all day. It makes my heart smile!
Reading books. Along with the Legos we are book fanatics.
Being outside. Weather we do yard work, or simply sit together under the trees, and watch the kids play. We have grown to love to just go outside and soak up the sunshine. Picking flowers is also an normal occurrence.
Ice cream dates. We took the kids to go eat ice cream one afternoon, so my dad could rest up after he strained his back. A couple of shots, and a some medicine, and he is almost as good as new.
Fire station tour. We gave my mom a little tour of the local fire department were Nate volunteers on his off days. The kids love going there - running in the stalls, looking an d climbing on the trucks.
We are preparing for a sweet little Lego party this weekend. I can't believe my little dude will be FIVE!!!! It happens way to fast.
Off to soak up my last week with mom and dad!
Happy Thursday!
