Hello Spring

The weather has been beautiful and the sun is motivation to me.  It energizes me, and motivates me to get stuff done.

We have been in our house for exactly two weeks now, and it has been pure delight.  We are finally our new groove, our routine, and our sense of normal, among the boxes, and continuing renovations.

I have come to acceptance that we are human, and there are only twenty-four house in a day - so some things are going to go on the back burner for a little while longer, I mean seriously - who needs baseboards?

The fact that the four of us are together, and working through this change in our live is pretty much really all I need, we do our live together, the good, bad, and the ugly.

It has been freeing, and liberating to be in my own space, among the the things and colors that makes me happy, and I have felt my creativity seep back into my veins, and my souls, and it has been a beautiful thing.

I have been cooking, and baking, and creating in the kitchen, one of my loves, and it has been amazing, for a while I felt like I was losing everything that I loved doing, and the deep "missing" of my own things and my comfort zone was extremely overwhelming.

I am so thankful for a sweet friend, who have been so encouraging and motivating, and who comes over and hangs out with me in our huge dusty mess, with no judgement, or pretense, but a pure, sweet and sincere heart, and for that I am so grateful. Also, I am so excited that she is starting to share my love for tea and good food, what a bonus!!!  Yay, for kids that are the same age, and even though the fight at times, they seem to sort it out pretty soon, and move on. It has been a true saving grace.

We are still busy working on the laundry room, and it will be the last big project for a little while.  After this it will be finishing up all the small things, like uhm installing the baseboards, and ceiling fans (yes we use our phone lights a lot when it gets dark) and few other small things.  I am pretty sure after this experience we can totally right a book, about ten things you didn't know about renovating

Anyways the laundry room is coming along just fine, and like everything else we make lofty goals, so it will get done when it gets done.  My man, has been working super hard, and since him and Mike want to do things the right way, Nate dug this massive trench for the plumbing for washer, I must admit I am super impressed.

He jack hammered into the foundation of the house, to complete this whole process...

I have never been more excited to do laundry.

With the change in the season, and the warmth of the sun comes all the things I love.  The sound of birds chirping, insects busing, and flowers, lots and lots of flowers, also gardening.

We decided to take a small break and to work outside instead of inside over the weekend.  The yard needed desperate attention, the weeds were getting out of control, if you lose a almost three year old in the weeds, it is a little too much.  We de-weeded the back yard, and decided to make the front yard a little more homey.

Flowers and shrubs call out that people actually live here, it is welcoming, and let us just face it flowers makes me happy!!!

Of course we had lots of help from the little people,

People, we have a small pony tail!! My mama heart is so happy!

He is the coolest four year old I know!

I am so thankful for my sweet little family, and even though I want to run away some days, or pull out my hair, and hide in the bath tub with my emergency stash of chocolate (yes, we have those days - more then not) I am so in love with these three.

They can make me lose my cool in a mere second, they have stretched my soul, tested my limits, managed to break me into an emotional hot mess, but in a solid millisecond they can help heal it all.

Especially with flowers, and not just any flowers, weed flowers...
My gift from my little man, with help from my man - all the way from the landfill......

It is a reminder to me that I can find beauty in an unexpected place.  It is always there, I just have to be willing to see it.  My lesson right now....

Happy Wednesday!
