This past Friday I had the incredible honor to pin Nate's fire badge onto his new uniform. As I am writing this, I am little teary eyed, because I have no words to describe how proud I am of my husband. Watching him get sworn into Odessa Fire & Rescue, is one of those moments that will forever be tucked away, close to my heart.
Emergency is what Nate does, he is always calm and level headed no matter what, a true gift. I am so happy for him, to have achieved another one of his dreams. This is what he always wanted, what he dreamed off when he was in the military, and what he worked for.
The kids are so excited to have a fireman daddy again, that is all they have talked about in the last several weeks, and they have been playing with the firetruck toys a little more often.
Friday we had the opportunity to be apart of Nate's pinning ceremony, and to tour the Central Station. The kids of course acted like they owned the station (just like Station 4 in Germany - I miss the sweet Germans :)) It is nothing like we are use to, but I am sure in time we will all be settled in a little more...
Nate's beautiful day in pictures.
We toured the station.

He was so proud of his daddy! |
We had a celebration dinner.
And by Saturday we have made the paper. That;s right, I will now be signing autographs! :)
I am extremely excited for Nate and this opportunity to learn more and better his skills to help people. This is going to be an adventure for sure.
The kids and I are proud of you love!!

On Saturday we had great plans to do another supply run for the house, so that our friend Mike could finish up the bathroom, and we wanted all our things together since Nate will work for 24 hours and then be home for 48 hours, well that means lots of time to work...
Unfortunately we were greeted by this....
So turned around changed out and did some much needed work in the house. Better be safe then sorry.
We got a ton accomplished, and also managed to clean up all the trash (empty boxes etc). The kids rooms are now 100% stripped to the sheet rock, cleaned, plug & light switch covers removed, baseboards down, holes patched, ceilings textured and painted, and door frames removed.
We are no ready to tape and paint and then carpet.
Nothing went as we originally planned, and we were hoping to be done with the house by Tuesday. It doesn't help that we keep adding to the list. On Tuesday the military will be delivering all of our household goods. It is going to be so glorious to have all our stuff at our finger tips.
We will have to shuffle boxes and things around to continue working, but at this point I am cool with that!!
Stay tuned!
Happy Sunday!
