It Is Official - An Exciting Annoucement

Since I first met Nate back in 2008 he has been a fire fighter.  It is in his blood, and heart, That is one of his biggest passions, and besides for the Lord, fire fighting drives him.  It is apart of him, intertwined in who he is.  It has helped shape and mold the person that he is today.

When we decided to separate from the military it was with a sad and heavy y heart that we greeted our "normal" life as a fire family, and decided to discover something new, and to plant new roots.  We have done this for the last six months, and though it hasn't been completely horrible, we longed for our "normal" life, routine, and shift work schedule.

We decided that it was the perfect time to apply to become a full time fire fighter in Odessa, and once Nate submitted his application everything started to fall in place, to the point where it has been hard to believe that everything has gone so smoothly.

It is with a happy and proud heart, that I am announcing,

NATE HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN HIRED AS AN ODESSA FIRE FIGHTER!!!

I am so proud of my man!!

The kids have been so excited, to have a fire daddy again, that it is all they talk about and dream about and it makes my heart happy.

Fire and military life is all my kids have ever known, and the fact that one is returning is such a reassuring feeling.

With this wonderful new opportunity comes lots of opportunity for Nate to better himself in his fire career, and one of the things that makes him super excited is the fact that he will be attending paramedic school (he has always wanted to do that) - exciting things awaits him.

Congratulations Nate, the kids and I couldn't be more proud of you!!

He will start later this month after his pinning ceremony.

Lots of changes are happening all at once in our house, and at times it seems overwhelming, but it is more exciting, and we ready for these changes, we are ready to start our life, and to get our of this weird and somewhat annoying transition stage.

We have been busy little bees, working and renovating our new house, so we can move in at the end of them month when the military delivers all our household goods.  It is going to be like Christmas on steroids!

They finally delivered all of our big appliances on Tuesday, I can't wait to break in my new oven and stove (thanks Nate - you are the best) and to get back into my kitchen.  I miss the little things.

We have been ripping up carpets and floors, and scraping all the popcorn ceiling smooth for the past several days, and we are hoping to strip the house down completely this weekend, and starting completely over with a fresh coat of paint, some small replacements.  It has been so exciting!

Renovating has been a sweet family affair, and the kids have been so helpful and wonderful.  It has been fun to do it together and to share all the excitement.  They are the best!

I am so excited to share the before and after photos of the house.  So stay tuned, if you are interested!

Until then we will be happily scraping away ceilings, and strip down rooms.

Happy Thursday!!
