House Renovating Update

It has been a while since I updated everyone on the house renovations.  Let us just say that things are going a little slower then we anticipated, through all the excitement, we completely forgot that Nate still has a full time job (working 07:30am to 5:00pm - at least till he starts shift this weekend), we have two very busy and active toddlers who sometimes require a lot of attention, and that makes it hard to work none stop, the weather really sucks right now, Nate is on the volunteer fire department in town so some of his evenings are super busy, and then on weekends things pop up and we have to do lots of supply runs.  It is a little frustrating but we are working through it.

We have done quite a bit, and I am please with some of the progress, that fact that we are stripping the house to sheet rock, and redoing everything obviously takes a little longer as well.

We are working on completely finishing the bedrooms first, so that they can install the carpets (we were going to do it ourselves, but  we got a free installation offer, so of course we said yes.) We finally textured the ceilings after scrapping of a mountain worth of popcorn texture.

Of course working hard wouldn't be complete with a selfie :) just saying!

The kids do well at times, and not so well at other times when it comes to working.  Ian is a huge help, and he loves working with us, but finding kid appropriate jobs are challenging at times,

I generally keep them busy with side walk chalk (concrete floors have been a huge relieve,) cars, and pennies, lots and lots of pennies.  They generally play well together, but we do have our moments.  Oh and snacks and special treats have been a huge time saver.

The bathroom is coming along great, and it is so beautiful.  Our friend Mike is so talented and I love his work.  We are still waiting on the vanity to come in (stupid snowy weather) so once it comes in everything will be pretty much done.

Here is a little preview of just the tile.
* The diamond one is how the floor will look.
* The strip is above the bath tub.

I love the little rocks,  It reminds me of the cobble stone in Europe.

I can't wait to to show you the complete look.  You will be astonished!!!

We are planning to get lots done this weekend.

Nate will start shift on Monday and means 24 hours on and 48 hours off.  We will have way more time to just jam away and get it done.

We have a pinning ceremony today for very own special fire fighter!

Happy Friday!
