Today was a big day. Nate officially started his new job at the Odessa Fire Department. This is something he has wanted to do, since we decided to separate from the military, but the testing dates didn't correspond with our flights and dates to return to the United States.
This whole application process for this job has been nothing short of a complete miracle, and I am still so astonished at how it all came together perfectly smooth and flawless.
We have been anticipating this day for the last month, and it finally arrived. I haven't seen Nate this excited to go to work since we left the military fire department life.
He got all decked out in his fire uniform this morning, and oh my word my man is so handsome.
This morning my heart was happy watching him get ready for his first day as an old fire fighter at a new department, and I got excited as well.
This life is all we have known (except for the few months at WCS) and it made me happy to think that we are going to have that sense of normalcy, and an awesome schedule. Yes, for only working ten full days of the month.
We are also excited for all the benefits, it is way better and more rewarding then his previous job. Oh, and on a side note, I am so proud of Nate for finishing his old job properly, with integrity and hard work! He is awesome.
Right now the kids, are excited to have a fire fighter daddy again, even though he as been on the volunteer fire department in town for a couple of months now.
Congratulations Nate. The kids and I are so proud of you and excited for this new leg of our adventure.

Our sweet little cottage house is coming together rather nice, and I am so excited to see it when it is all done, I think we are really going to love it so much.
The bathroom framing is now covered (I took the pictures yesterday) and today I got a picture from our friend who is helping with the construction, of some tiles laid above the bath.
Sometimes I wish we had more hours in the day, just to finish already. But then I have to remind myself to be patient, and in due time it will be done and it will be everything we dreamed about and even more.
Being in someone else's house for six month with not to many of your own stuff, will totally do a number on you, and make you appreciate your own things even more. Just saying! I am ready!
We are all just so desperate to start our new life, in our new house, with Nate's job, to have some more structure, routine, and a better schedule. I miss that part of our normal from Germany so much, that sometimes it is hard to cope and deal with.
We will start painting this weekend, and I can't wait to see it all come together.
Just a short little update. Stay tuned for more!
Happy Thursday!
