Well Hello Sunshine

After what seems like an eternity of gloomy and dark weather we had three (well if you count today) four days of glorious sunshine, and warmth (yes I wore flip flops) and it was beautiful.

One of the main things that made West Texas appealing was the weather, what a disappointment, I mean I get winter and it being slightly colder, but seriously this frozen mess and the lack of sunshine is completely unappreciated and I really truly don't care for it much.  Sorry to my friends who hate the heat - but bring on summer with scorching heat because at least that is accompanying by sunshine (just saying.)

I have no idea how we made it in Germany, I am convinced that it was sunny for maybe three months out of the year, but we made it and in the winter the kids and I would be content staying home for six to seven days of the week, go buy groceries and return to our little fortress, to just repeat the cycle.  To be honest, I was ok with that, maybe because it was our own house and our own space?

The last couple of weeks have been so hard on me, and it is simply because I need sunshine in my life.  I am also getting antsy to get into my own space, and doing my own thing.  I'll be honest, I miss my stuff, and my creativity is slowly sapping from my bones since I just don't have anything with me.

All I can say this transition has been the hardest one so far, and there is more to it, but it probably not appropriate to write it here on the blog, I do seem to live in small town "let me into your business and dangit I will intrude even in you don't ivite me - let's call it dramaville.  I will make it, I am convinced once we can settle into our own normalcy it will be easier, and we can really adjust.

On Friday the sun come out, and I decided it is the perfect time to get out, run some errands, and treat the kids.  We did just that.  Ice cream and the duck pond.  It was perfect, simple, without tons of effort.  The sunshine did a beautiful number on our attitudes and we all felt better.

Choke hold.

I am ready for summer and greenery.

We had a fun weekend, accompanied by going to the Paddington, the movie.  We love Paddington, well I love, and I think I might have forced in my kids, but they seemed to have grown to love this little bear as well, so it was just perfect to go see the movie.  I had no idea there was movie, until the night before.  I am so happy we went, the kids loved and they were so excited!  I can't wait to own the movie.

All I can say is weekends go by way to fast...

I am also happy to share, that Nate has been voted on as a volunteer firefighter in our town.  I am proud of him, the kids are excited, and well Nate is more excited then everyone.  I know he misses fire so much.

The closing on our house has been slightly delayed thanks to the VA, we are hoping this issue will be resolved quickly, and that it would only effect our closing date by a few days or a week.  We did find a local VA appraiser to finally come out. We just can't wait for this chapter to truly begin.

Also stay tuned, I might have slightly (well who am I kidding) very awesome amazing and exciting news to share at the end of the week.

Until then,

Happy Monday!
