Frozen Winter Wonderland

We entered the new year with a frozen, icy mess.  Yes, a silly ice storm in West Texas, is not what I had in mind.  I moved here for lots of reasons but one of the main ones - sunshine and warmth.

We were stuck in the house for days, the only good thing about this wintery mess, Nate were able to stay home and or come home early for several days.  That gave us the time, to really start brainstorming for the renovations on our new house, before we move in.

At least the frozen mess, made for pretty pictures.

Our outside Christmas lights.

The little swamp down by the house.

This is the grass.

I am happy to say that the sun started peeking out on Saturday morning and everything started to melt.  So now we have a soggy muddy mess - we can't win for losing.  At least it looks like it is all done for now.

Nate and I had a productive Saturday, his mom and dad kept the kids, and we went appliance shopping.  Yes, we need everything for our house - six plus years in Germany 220V appliances - we were able to get everything from the military the whole time.

I am happy to say we found everything we needed, at great prices, thanks to a good sale,  I can't wait to use my oven and stove (she is a beauty.)

Our closing date is still the 20th of January.  We have a couple of renovations we want to do, so we won't actually move in till mid-February.  But we will have something to keep us busy.

This is going to be a good year.

Stay toned for our crazy house buying and renovating adventures.

Happy Monday!

PS. I must be nice to be a cat!
