After a few weeks of raining none stop and many flash floods, the sun is out and shining brightly and it makes everyone feel better.
We finally have some prospect in the direction we are moving, and the fact that there is light at the end of the tunnel, is so uplifting and encouraging.
The kids and I have been having a little harder time adjusting the last few weeks, we miss our house, and our stuff. It is mostly a comfort thing, having stuff on hand when you need it. Ian misses his hundreds of trains and tracks, and that have been hard on him. We are trying though...
I have been a rut, were I want to be creative but I have none of my stuff, and going out to buy stuff when I already have those things somewhere in a container, is not appealing, and it has been getting me down a little.
But we have good news, a couple of days, we got our pre-approved home loan. That means we can start shopping for houses and we are so excited. We are ready for normal, we are ready for routine, and we are more then ready to start this new adventure properly in our own little space, to make and break like we please. I see so many projects in my future and it makes me so happy.
Nate is starting work on Monday (he was suppose to start last week - but they were still waiting in the military background check) - I know for a fact he is ready to start working and getting busy. We are all there.
I started school with the kids this past week, and they love it so much. It is so rewarding to see them absorb so much information. We are slowly easing into it, learning as we go, and finding what works for our family.
We spend the last couple of weeks, soaking in summer, and dreaming.
1. We love the duck pond, and make a point to go at least once a week to treat the ducks with bread heels, leftover muffins and breakfast goodies. These ducks and geese can be a little crazy, so the kids freak out half of the time. But we got smart, tables makes a great place to be taller then the birds. This is the only time it is acceptable to stand on a table :) Oh, and we even found a little squirrel.
2. Watermelon is the best, and we are already looking forward to next summer, to indulge.
3. Taming wild cats. We are sad to announce that kitty Kylie passed away a couple of weeks ago. This did not stop the kids, we have no successfully tamed two "wild" cats. The kids chose the black one, and named her Millie, after a Thomas the Tank Engine character. This is how it all begun thought, Hayleigh would try to catch them before the jump on the wall. Watching this occurrence was priceless. I will get pictures of Millie for the next post.
4. Baking peanut butter cookies. Well baking lots of goodies all the time, sounds more like it.
Please continue to pray for our little family is we try to adjust to our new life. I really didn't think it was going to be this hard. We are trying though, and I know that as long as we stick together, everything will be just fine. This is such a huge learning experience for us, that at times it is extremely overwhelming, but we are hanging in there.
Happy Friday!
