Rainy Days

Here we are. six weeks into our new adventure, and things are finally starting to pan out.  There is still a lot that needs to fall in place.  But first of all, I am proud to announce that Nate has a job, and will be starting to work on 06 October.

I am so happy to announce that from the 16th of September we are officially a civilian family.  Nate served his country for a little over ten years, and I could not be any prouder of him for the sacrifices and commitment he put into it.  It feels very freeing and liberating to be done with that chapter of our live and to be among family and friends.  It was a fun adventure, and the life experiences we gain is priceless, and will forever be treasured.

I find myself in this funk here lately were a lack motivation and I am trying to get rid of it.  This weekend is the first time since Ian's birthday that I have pulled my camera out of the drawer to document some of our fun.  I am hoping to get over this "funk " now that we have been freed up from a commitment we made earlier.

We spend the weekend playing trains, reading books, coloring, snuggling, and preparing for our experimentation of possibly homeschooling the kids.

We had some outside adventures in between the rain and floods.  We get flash flood message oh every couple of hours for the last week or so.  I love all the water and the fact that the little park down the street from the house has a small lake now.  It is beautiful.  Our adventures included an earthworm and a little turtle.  The turtle was a complete hit, and the kids wanted to keep it as a pet.  They named it Ted.  I made them release him into the garden, and we have not seen him since.  Ian now informs me that it went back to it's family.  He is the sweetest.

Our next step in this journey is to find a house.  We are not rushing into it, since it such a big decision and investment, but we can't wait to have our own little nest again.

We are finally getting use to somethings, and the fact that this move is more permanent is settling in.
I am ready for normalcy and I won't lie, I really miss my stuff and the comfort of my own environment, but I am so grateful for my generous and gracious in-laws, who have been supportive and understanding in this whole process.

Oh and meet kitty Kylie, I am in love with her.  Natasha you might never get her back....

Happy Monday!
