We have been "lazy:" for the last several days, after working somewhat hard getting ready for the move the last several weeks, that the change in in routine has been both refreshing and rejuvenating.
The kids are thankfully still into Lego, and will admit I am in love with their creativity and ability to build really awesome things. Nate and I ask each other constantly "did you help the kids build that," and the reply is always "no, I thought you did" and then we chuckled together and admire the learning abilities of little people.

Since we are doing the one car deal until we leave, the kids need to get out of the house especially when it has been raining all week, so we set out on a little movie adventure. We took the kids to lunch at our favourite Chinese place, and then went to the movies. Ian loves going to the movies, and ever since we took him the first time (around Hayleigh's age) he would sit still for the entire movie, it is fabulous. I was a little hesitant on how Hayleigh would do, since she can't sit still even if her life depended on it, and she did pretty awesome, we had to redirect her only a hand full of times. We are super late to the game, but seeing that the movie theater on base get movies super late (and I never even know what is new releases) we went to go see How To Train Your Dragon 2. So cute, Ian loved it and ever since they have been feeding dragons in the house no stop. Hayleigh wanted to be all dressy - isn't she cute!!
Our really small veggie patch is flourishing, and I am so sad to give my little plants away, but it is what it is. I am so happy we were able to harvest a small amount of things before we leave. I am excited to continue doing this in Texas, and hopefully outside, and teaching the kids some more. They have loved taking care of the plants, watering them, and even talking to them.
Nate and some of the German's who work on base with him have become really great friends. One of them invited us to an "open house" fun day at the his German volunteer fire station. We of course went even though it rained, just to say hi, have some lunch and let the kids play. We ended up leaving because the rain would not go away, the kids were getting restless and upset that they could not play and jump anymore. We did have a great time, and the food was so yummy. Oh and of course the German beer, Ian asked for a "tiny beer" so we got them apple juice mixed with sparkling water, and they bought it and loved it.
Moving day is getting closer, and closer, now the nerves are starting to set in. We are so excited but moving our whole house across the world and keeping the essentials that we will need until our shipment arrives 8 weeks later is the part that gets me. I just want all my stuff, my kitchen stuff, my clothes, and the kids toys!! So we learn.
The other morning the kids wanted to have breakfast with Nate, we usually eat breakfast before he gets home from shift because the kids are hungry around 07:30, and we get up so early it makes sense that they are hungry! They wanted breakfast cup cakes (will post the recipe soon) and they even set the whole table to do something nice for daddy. The best part is they wanted to wait to eat as well, it was so sweet. As soon as Nate walked in the door, Ian told him they had a surprise for him and then they lead him so gently to the dining room. I love these sweet moments with our kids.
Hayleigh and Nate went for walk the other day, and Ian wanted to run some errands with me, so I came home to these sweet pictures on the camera. Nate is such a sweet daddy, my kids are so lucky.
Tomorrow the sun is suppose to appear again, so it will be zoo day in the Cook house. We all could use a break form the rain, and being cooped up in the house.
Happy Monday!
