We have a our vegetables from our plants, and I was greeted with two big peppers and a bell pepper when we returned from our trip. I am so happy my plants survived. Hayleigh has really taken to garden as well, ok wait, she likes watering plants more then planting them, I do love the extra help in the mornings. I hope to instill home grown food into the kids, and I have so many fun gardening projects in mind for the future.
On Saturday morning we had some friends over for a last breakfast together, before they head out leavig Germany and moving back to the US. This is the biggest thing I hate about the military, is constantly saying see you later, and having to constantly make new friends. We had fun fellowship, combined with yummy food. Homemade coconut bread and pear, hazelnut, and chocolate chip muffins. Little Ian was super distraught when he had to say good bye to his friend - he cried for what seemed like forever, and as a mother it breaks my heart. Saying good-bye or see you later sucks when you are a kid, and it doesn't get much better when you are an adult. Safe travels Parritt family!!!
While preparing all the food that morning, the kids were really cute. Any mother with toddlers know that quiet means they are most likely up to something. I popped my head into the living room, and welcome this sweet sight.
I love that they are best friends, well for the most part, they do fight at times. The love between them is so beautiful and I really hope they will maintain it forever. Siblings are to cherished. They have both taken an interest in drawing a lot, so the last several days they have been drawing in these awesome note pads, and their creations have been so impressive.
I have finally introduced the kids to Wordy Worm and it has been so much fun. It is really fun little reading program to teach kids phonics in order to read. I let them do as much or as little as they want to, and they have really embraced this learning experience. After just a few days they can sing a lot of the songs and name the letters as well as the phonographs associated with the letters. It has been so amazing watching them learn and love it. I would recommend this to anyone, and the reason for the creation of this reading aid is so awesome.
I am looking forward to using some more of their learning and teaching aids.
I also finally tidied up my kitchen to add to a post. I love my kitchen, it is small, and has limited counter space, but I have learned to adapt to it, and I love it. I have grown to love baking and cooking so much since Ian started eating solids. Being in the kitchen and creating or trying new recipes is so calming and relaxing to me, and the bonus is I do actually love and enjoy it.
Lost if things in my kitchen have been spruced up with stain, colors, and baskets for storing additional things since the German kitchen has so little cupboard space as well.
Welcome to one of my favourite nooks in the house.

Hanging the pots and pans like this, frees up a ton of cupboard space. |

Nate build this, Hayleigh broke the one handle, I had to improvise. |
The hardest part about moving? I am so comfortable in our house, that starting over is exciting yet so daunting. Hopefully we will adjust quickly.
We have a busy week ahead of us, and then Nate is on leave for a week, so we can start packing up a little bit, take everything off the walls and fill the holes, and maybe work in a last little trip.
Happy Tuesday!
