Colorful Playing & Our Magnificent Bathroom

I am still without my car, and it has been a little more then three weeks, not that I am counting or anything.  All I can say is being stranded sucks, I use to stay home even when I had a car, but just having the option to leave the house was comforting.  Anyways moving on.....

We have been lots of colorful play to keep us busy and entertained, and colors make us happy.  I love all the vibrant colors in the kids toys.  We have been so busy having early morning tea parties, picking different foods to carry around in fun little baskets, reading books, being crafty, and building blocks.  We are kind of Lego nuts and can build towers for hours.

No morning is complete without homemade donuts.  I have to say that they tasted way better then I thought they would, and the kids love it.  We will be making more of these on our stranded home days.  Tea is also a must for the mornings.

We have been subscribed to Citrus Lane for a few months now, well probably about eight months and I have to say we love it,  You can feel everyone's excitement when we go to the post office and our yellow boxes arrived, we have to contain ourselves the car all the way to not open the boxes right then.

This month one of the things Ian got was foam fliers.  They are so awesome we spent days painting them, and now the paint has to dry, and then we have to paint the other side before we can assemble them.  The completed look will most likely only be completed by the next post and I will be sure to add some pictures.

Anyways we had a blast painting all three fliers, even though things tend to get way out of hand sooner then later when sister is involved, and it causes me to practice breathing techniques because it is quiet irritating to clean paint of off everything.  But we roll with it, because that is how they learn.

We  have had the honor of welcoming the newest member to our puppet family.  Mr Dragon is keeper, and the kids love him.  Ian desperately wanted me to take a picture of him with Mr Dragon so that he could show it to his grandparents.  I love hand puppets, and watching Ian and Hayleigh's imagination expand and grow by playing with these puppets is so amazing.

We also cut out first watermelon of the season over the weekend, and Hayleigh loved it.  Ian like it as well but he spend most of the time digging out the pips, and then whining about.  I can't wait for more watermelon afternoons, and sticky hands - well I am definitely lying about the sticky hands.

I also have the joy of sharing our awesome bathroom.  I love our bathroom, it is spacious, beautiful, and light.  The bathroom is one of the elements that sold me on renting this house here in Germany.  The space is extra handy when bath hour hits the Cook house.

Almost everything, decorating wise is from the thrift store, self made, or discount.

The diaper box is actually a diaper box, that I covered with fabric.

Thank you for the idea Annelie.  These are shells that we picked up at Cannon Rocks.
Inexpensive frames, scrapbook paper, and sea stars from one of my trips home a couple of years ago.

Keeping things organized with the little people invasion.  Basket for potty books is a must!

I already owned the glass jar, and the shells are from Cannon Rocks as well.

That is awesome blue bin, keeps all the bath toys contained.

The little hallway that leads to the bathroom.

It is new week, and I am so happy that Nate will be home every other day again, back to our normal schedule, because last week was somewhat disastrous.  I am counting the days till vacation time!!

Oh and we also made cheesecake - you can find it here.

Happy Tuesday!
