Mystic Monkeys & Feather Farm

We spent Good Friday with my parents, I love having the weekends with them, and we are all excited for the next three weeks when they will be on leave as well.

The weekends have been so much, having extra time with them, and they have been so fabulous in giving me some breaks to go to dinner with friends, going shopping, and or even just taking a long bath.  I so appreciate them, and love the relationships they are cultivating with my kids.  This is one of the things that make me the saddest about living so far away.

The kids were slightly disappointed that they weren’t able to see baby lions at the Rhino & Lion Reserve, so oupa and ouma came to the rescue.

Went to another animal sanctuary – I would not personally recommend them because they tend to go back on their word on things that they promise over the phone, but we were able to give the kids what they longed for.

The kids and I were able to interact with the sweetest little lion cubs.  They were seriously cute – the kids were careful (as they should be) and enjoyed the few minutes of interactions.

I on the other hand could’ve stayed in that sections all day long…

There is a ton of monkeys there, but it was hard to take pictures through the wire, so we just admired them instead.

They had all these little statues in the garden and the kids thought it was the coolest.

A wide variety of wild cats were also around.

There were a bunch of birds.  It is not every day that you can say a blue crane scared you half to death… ask one of the kids  , these birds sure are beautiful though.

We also saw this snake on the way there... just by the way!

The kids loved the little donkeys and the camels.  Petting them was a huge hit.

We had a nice little lunch, hanging out, talking, laughing, and reminiscing about our times together in the past.  I hold those memories so dear.

We gathered some eggs, feathers, bugs, and beetles.  My mom is working very hard to encourage the kids to not be so afraid of bugs and things.  I love her gentle ways.

It was such a nice little morning outing, and we were home, just in time for a little nap.

We are approaching our last week at my parent’s house in Pretoria, and then we will be heading to Cape Town to meet up with Nate (yass, we can hardly wait) and then to see my brother, and my favorite little baby Lara.  I am so excited to see and meet my beautiful little niece.  Then off to the beach house for the very last time, it is going to a super hard good-bye.

We have been so very blessed to have such a wonderful time the last few weeks, meeting up with friends and family, experiencing so many things that most people never get to experience in their entire life.

We will be enjoying our last week here with friends, saying our good-byes, and anticipating Nate’s arrival.

Happy Thursday!
