Merry Christmas

It is still Christmas for a couple of hours, and we had such a fabulous day.

The house has been tidied, all the magic and anticipation boxed up for next year, two over-tired and over-stimulated children have been tucked in, the dishwasher is humming in the back ground, the sticky flours have been mopped, the rogue pieces of ribbon have been discarded, a delicious batch of my favorite Christmas scent is simmer on the stove top, and I am looking through all the pictures - savoring the beauty of our day.

We just had a very slow and lazy Christmas (Ian is still under the weather) so we just stayed in, and build Legos all day, while watching cheesy Christmas movies.

It was so nice to be able to just be home, we stayed in jammies all day and we didn't have to entertain anyone, and it was kind of a nice little change.

The kids without even skipping a beat, woke us at the crack of dawn.  Nothing new there.... so we stumble out of bed, turned on the twinkly lights and made some coffee.

And our annual picture of the kids in front of the tree.  They don't care for this part much!  When did they get so so big?

Then the unwrapping of gifts began, and as usual it never disappoints and they are way cute as always.

As usual our sweet kitty joined us - she is seriously the funnest cat.

We had a fabulous breakfast together.  We don't do a ton of cinnamon rolls, but for Christmas we do - and it is the best.

After breakfast we opened our stockings... stocking stuffers is one of my favorites.

and this is how the rest of the day went.... toys everywhere... playing all day...

We cooked a fantastic Christmas lunch/dinner together.

and of course dessert - our favorite cheesecake.

The rest of the afternoon was spend playing some more, watching cheesy Christmas movies, and cat snuggles.

It was one of the best Christmas Days we have had, I just love being home with my sweet little family.

As the day got away from us rather quickly, we realized as bath time approached that we never took our little family picture, so last minute before bed shot were in order.

Can you spot Millie?
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
