{recipe} Perfect Brown Rice

Rice is the perfect bed for eating stew, gravy, or even roasted vegetables.  I have found this full proof way to make the perfect fluffy brown rice, every single time.

  PERFECT BROWN RICE:
* serves 4-6

1 cup long grain brown rice
8 cups cold water
1 1/2 tsp Celtic sea salt

* I recommend using organic/grass-fed/high quality ingredients from reputable companies when feasible.

Rinse the rice under cold water for 30 seconds.  Bring the water and salt to a boil in a medium size pot with a tight fitting lids - over high heat.  Once the water have reached a boil, add the brown rice.  Partially cover the pot with the lid, turn the heat down to medium high, and cook the rice for 30 minutes.

Using a strainer quickly drain the brown rice and return to the pot.  Cover the pot with the tight fitting lid, and let the steam cook the rice for 20 more minutes.

Uncover the pot and fluff the brown rice with a fork.

Serve warm.

Keep the rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a
week.
