This is not so much an original idea or recipe, but it is just another way to create nutrient dense snacks, that are simple and easy. We love making these in the afternoons, as quick and easy snack that will keep us full and fueled until dinner time. This is also a fun way to give kids ownership of their own snack choices.
APPLE SANDWICHES:
* serves 4
2 apples, thinly sliced & cookie cutter to cut out the core in a fun shape
1/4 cup peanut butter, or almond butter, or sunflower seed butter
1/4 cup super easy granola
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup raisins or cranberries
* I recommend using organic/grass-fed/high quality ingredients from reputable companies when feasible.
There really is not method to this process - just pick your fillings and place them between to apple slices to create an apple sandwich.
