It has been a wild ride since....
and two years later I got experience that magical and describable feeling again, when my Hayleigh made her grand entrance...
and the ride became even wilder.....

Motherhood is beautiful, chaotic, and messy at times, but of so exhilarating - and I will forever cherish being called mom.

In good Cook tradition we didn't celebrate Mother's Day on the actual day, sometimes I feel like my sweet family makes every day Mother's Day.
But we did have a fun day when we got to it....
First this sight in the kitchen - cheery, yellow flowers (hello I am Chantal, and I am a total flower junkie)
My morning cup of tea, I love sipping on a cup of tea and having a strategy for the day. I thrive on routine.
The sweetest keepsakes from the kids. They made these at church, and well they are keepers. It makes me laugh and cry all at the same time.
Nate and the kids made me breakfast, everyone together, without anyone trying to out do the other - I call that a parenting win.
Also chocolate chip pancakes, and a variety of berries - yes please.

| This right here - my heart melts. |
Then we had this idea to go wild flower hunting again, Nate had this idea that we could dig some up and come home and plant them in our alley. Maybe people would stop using it as a dumping ground.
Our favourite flowers that we wanted, were all done blooming.
So instead we caught a tortoise...
Meet Mable.
Millie was so not impressed.... she is a spoiled only pet.
Where did Mable go?
I love this cat some much - identity crisis and all. She seriously has the best personality.
Impromptu lunch at my favorite Mexican joint in town.
I even got to take nap.... that never happens.

I am so thankful for this woman...
She is my sweetest friend, biggest supported, and my motherhood manual. I seriously scored in the mom department. I am happy to call her my mom! I love you mom.
and this lady as well...
my classy grandma, she has got some style. Thank you for raising my mom, for inspiring me in the kitchen daily, and for being such an exceptional human being that it was an honor to name my Hayleigh after you. I love you ouma, so so much!
And to my Ian and Hayleigh - thank you for making me a mom. Life would be so dull without you. I love you both something fierce.
Happy Mother's Day!
