Our Easter

As per usual we never really celebrate most occasions on the actual day, due to Nate's line of work.  We are so use to adjusting everything a day before, a date after, a few weeks in advance etc.  it is just part of out life.

So this year we celebrated Easter a day early, because Nate was on shift on Sunday.

We had a super laid back Easter, the last few years I have been trying hard to keep things simple, yet classy and pretty.  I love all things pretty.

It has also decreased my anxiety and stress levels, and I love that.

The fact that I can start my day with a cup of coffee and a conversations with my man....

and I didn't have to roll out of bed, going a hundred miles an hour.  So refreshing.

Also this year have been fun with the kids, since they are able to better understand the meaning of Easter, and well why our family celebrate this special day.

I loved loved loved to hear their version of the events that took place so long ago, but is so relevant to us today.

The kids were so excited to tell us all about it.

Ian: "Jesus died on the cross, and three days later he became alive again."
Hayleigh: "Jesus died an awful death, like he died, and then three days later he just woke up." - leave it to the drama queen ;)

It just made me so happy, because He is risen!

We decorated just a little bit - nothing to crazy!

the kids work.

We had a super laid back breakfast together.  Simple, yet fun.  We also just enjoyed each other's company.

Once again our cinnamon bunnies, look more like Mickey Mouse.  But it is all good!

We spend a little while prepping for our Easter dinner.

And then we did the egg dying thing - it gets less and less stressful every year - score!

and then the much awaited Easter egg hunt.  Also they are so fast now, it makes it hard to capture shots of them moving - ha!

This is by far their favourite thing, it was kind of hilarious, watching them race.  Hayleigh would freak out because she thinks Ian is getting more eggs then her, then he would stop and help her (sweet kid that he is) and it went on like this forever.  I love Ian's tender heart.

Totally off subject - but Ian lost another tooth.  Get ready for it.....

How cute it he ;) - he looks like a little carved pumpkin, and I love it!!!

Oh, and of course Millie had to join in on the fun.

She actually did steal an Easter egg, but I was to late to capture it.  I love this cat so so much!

We had a nice little dinner with Nate's parents.

One of my favourite things about meal time, is setting the table.

Dinner was easy, grilled streaks, roasted potato salad, rainbow carrots, and molasses shimmered onions.

It was delicious!  Also the best leftovers ever!

  Followed by carrot cake.

It has been nice to have one set of parents near by for the kids to have grandparents. It is special to see their relationships unfold, and all the trail and error from before seem to be evaporating a little bit at a time.

I am thankful.

   ***

It has been a good year so far, and I am again so grateful for all the change that has taken place, to restore some of the last two years.

We have grown so much in the last four months, and I am excited for the rest of the year, as new opportunities have been presented, and we have decided to cultivate them.

The kiddo's are thriving, home-school is a blast, Nate loves loves loves his jobs, and I love raising the kids, cooking constantly, and making this home.

It feels so weird to say that, I have been fighting that for the last two years, and I it has been so freeing to just accept the fact that this is going to be home for a good while, and well to make the best of it.

I am thankful for the grace & mercy of God the last two years, well because let's face it, I can be such a terrible human being... and lots of my behavior might have been less then stellar.

But everything is all new now, and well everyone for once is happy and joyful all at the same time.

My sweet little family, is so worth it all, and life would seriously be so so boring without them.

Happy Easter!

Know that you are loved!
