Once the kids came a long, we still didn't do much but as they got older, it started to become fun - and well they love celebrating just about everything.
So every year we come up with some fun things to do at home, and to celebrate the fact that we all love each other so much.
It generally starts with coffee and tea in heart cups - oogling and googling over the kids coloring by our feet.
And just feeling super blessed that they are all mine.
Anyways then we move along to breakfast...
Enter year of the pick epic failure! It has come to my attention that Nate really is the one to make heart shaped food happen so effortlessly... anyways he wasn't home for breakfast so it was all up to me.
After about the third try and some colorful explosion - I quit - heart shaped pancakes isn't worth the ugly frustration.
So nevertheless the kids and I had a lovely breakfast - with the epic failure of pancakes, hey at least they still tasted delicious.
We had a little impromptu lunch date at our favourite little Mexican spot in town. The kids loved it! Well I loved it too - good food is hard to come by over here!

The kids took this one - not bad! |
And then we had cake - celebrating any thing without cake is just wrong. But let me first tell you about this cake.
Enter epic fail #2. So I saw these little cupcakes on Pintrest - light and airy and just beautiful, with a little red heart right in the middle when you cut it. I should have known this was a stupid idea because first of all who cuts a cupcake? Anyways I set off to make these beautiful cupcakes and what freaken disaster. They were not cute, they fell flat, and the wouldn't even come of the cupcake liners - ugh!
So enter cake... I should have just made this cake for the beginning - it is my go to cake and it has never failed me.
It is super easy to make, and looks pretty and it tastes delicious!
Also who would've know what due free sprinkles are so cute and they taste good too. Score!
It was nice to just be home for the morning and afternoon, since Nate has been working for five shifts straight this week.
Also when did my kids get so big? It just makes me so sad, before I know it we will have teenagers!
And this cat - she is simply perfect!! I can't imagine not having her in our little family!
And a lovely little dinner at home to end the day.
I am the luckiest to have these three to love. Life would be so dull without them!
We have been through so much the last couple of years - it feels good to be able to breathe, and to love more, to love deeper!
Happy Valentine's Day!
