I wish I could describe what it is like to witness his love for the two little souls that have been given to us.
Almost six years ago, this little boy made him a first time father.
and what a defining moment.
He rocked our world in a way that we could have never fully prepared for.
Twenty three months later....
I am always such a mess when it comes to writing a Father's Day post for Nate - because speaking of Nate as a daddy is a language all on it's own, and trying to decipher it takes time, and dedicated and even then it will never be descriptive enough.
Nate was blessed with a the daddy gene, where in instantly can calm an upset child, make them belly laugh, give way to their fears, and love the endlessly.
I could have never imagined or envisioned the future, and just how beautifully fatherhood suited him.
And these to lucky souls who call his daddy, knows just how blessed they are.
The moment I found out that Ian was on his way - I discovered a new kind of magic, a deeper kind of love and appreciation for him.
I could not have asked for a better parenting partner, to navigate the world of parenthood - the constant changes, the ups and the downs, and our less then stellar moments (you know when we lose our shit - don't act like you haven't been there.) I love this parenting journey, just because I get to do it with you. I love how much you value family - how deeply you love for us, and how much you provide for us.
Happy Father's Day my love, I love you for the extraordinary father you are and will be in the years to come.
Thank you for shaping a legacy of love and support for our children, and for creating a save place for us.
We are blessed beyond measure.
The last couple of years have been so hard for us, moving and starting over - and even through that he has been so comforting to the kids and I - in our less then marvelous state, when we cry lots of tears because this place we find ourselves in quiet frankly sucks. His patience and love for us is astounding.
We love you something fierce.

We had a lazy morning at home with Nate - he was just home in the morning due to clinicals at the emergency room.
We slept in for a little bit.
Coffee is must.
A waffle bar breakfast.
It as fabulous and delicious!
The kids made Nate a little dish to put his change in, because he his way to many lose coins in his drawer.
The little heart is their finger prints - it is hard to see.
We played games. Uno to be precise!
and of course more chocolate in the form of dessert - chocolate lasagna, yes please!
Is a beautiful day to celebrate fatherhood, and family.
Also to my dad...
Thank you for everything you have been to me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally (even in my less then stellar moods,) You have shown and displayed to me what a real man, husband, and father should be like, and I am so thankful for that, for the extraordinary example you have been and you continue to be. You have been there for me, (and my little family) every single time that we have needed you. I am so very happy that we were chosen to do life together, and you were hand picked to be my daddy. You are truly one of my best friends in this world, and I can't imagine my life without you!! Happy Father's Day, dad, I love you so very much!
