Sweet Treats - Chocolate Covered Marshallows

I have never been super into Valentines Day.  Nate and I never even exchange gifts - it is normal just another day.

The last couple of weeks the kids started asking about Valentines Day - we watch way to much TV in our house (go ahead and judge it is ok) and I am assuming they picked it up on one of they shows they like.

Well since they asked I had to oblige - I am mean a reason to eat candy, making yummy things, and craft almost all day long - yes please - who am I to say no to that?

So over the last week of February we have decorated the house.

Coffee filter and liquid paint hearts for the French doors in the kitchen.  They are perfect sun catchers.

So we decided that chocolate covered marshmallows were in order.  We have a weakness for marshmallows in this house - especially the ones from South Africa.

Oh and Valentines Day themed sprinkles are so pretty.

The little people were super excited about this....

It was super easy to make, all you need is straws, melting chocolate, marshmallows, and sprinkles. While the chocolate melted in the double broiler, I put the marshmallows attached to the straws in the freezer for a few minutes.  This helps them stick more sturdy to the straw and makes it easier for little hands to dip and roll.

They didn't turn out super pretty (little people where in charge) - but they still tasted delicious.

Super quick, fun, and easy activity to do with the kids.  It also qualifies as quality time together, and we get to indulge in sugar - I mean what is not to love?

Go ahead and makes these - you'll thank me later!

Our little house is all festive with pink and red hearts everywhere - and I will admit - I actually love it!!!

Happy Tuesday!
