I normally don't really do anything for Valentine's Day - I just didn't see the point to add one more "holiday" to stress about to my plate - but as I was thinking that, I also remember Mrs Sherri (my favourite lady from Germany) - and it make me stop in my tracks - and I decided why not - this is an opportunity to create new memories, and I am all for doing that.
Our weekend in pictures.
No morning is complete without hot drinks.
Breakfast and giggles go great together.
We were homesick for Germany and bakeries, and amazing bread pretzels. So I found a recipe online, tweaked it and a couple of hours later we were back on the cobble stone streets of Europe.
Little tones decked out in pink - is one of the cutest things in the world.
Flowers make us happy - even if they are a little bit fake - well a lot fake. Smiles is all that matters.
Nothing says I love you like chocolate cake, and M&M's.
Seeing this - makes it all worth it - the challenges, the heart ache of parenthood, and the craziness that ensues. It is all worth it for simple, yet seem moments like this.

I am extremely lucky to be loved and appreciated every single day of the year and not just on Valentine's Day.
My little family knows how to stretch my soul, to push me to the point of wanting to snap, and to occasionally hide in my bedroom with tear streaked cheeks, talking to my mom, and being frustrated because no one told me how hard motherhood really is.
But then something happens, we love each other so deeply and richly, and that love brings us together, and knits us together. Love is powerful, and beautiful.
Happy Valentine's Day!
