Enjoying The Christmas Things & A Little Trip

We have been enjoying Christmas things all December long, and even though Christmas has come and gone, I still enjoy the twinkling Christmas lights and the corny Hallmark Christmas movies.

Here is our enjoying the Christmas things.

#1 Hot Chocolate
Nothing is better then a cup of yummy hot chocolate on a cold winter day.  Through in some Christmas music, or even a movie with a cozy blanket, and you are in for a perfect afternoon or morning. Oh, and Christmas mugs, are kind of a must have.

#2 Christmas crafts.
I love crafting, and everything homemade.  So it is no surprise that I come up with fun homemade Christmas decorations to make, and use for the next year.

#3 Christmas Tree Decorations.
I have never made decorations for the tree before.  I am always looking for toddler friendly decorations, and this year I decided to experiment and make some of our own.  Ir is amazing what you can do with Popsicle sticks, next year I might try making some with felt.

#4 Gingerbread fun.
We started this tradition last year, and it was so much fun, we decided it's a keeper.  Nothing like a Saturday afternoon of family fun.  I  mean who doesn't like a suger high? I love the togetherness, and excitement from the kids.

#5 Christmas cookies.
Santa needs cookies.  Making them is the best part.  An afternoon of stickiness, and chaos, is always enjoyable for little people.  It is that togetherness that gets me again.  I love family time.

#6 Lazy cats.
This is Millie cat.  Ian tamed her.  She is a snuggled bug, Christmas movies and a soft kitty is a must for a cozy afternoon.

#7 Reading Christmas books.
Sadly this year we didn't have our awesome Christmas book advent calender.  All our books are in storage while we wait to close on the house.   We did add a couple of new books to our collection, and really enjoyed reading them.

#8 Nativity set.
The kids really enjoyed moving the pieces around for this nativity set.  I love that it is old.  I do miss my handmade Polish set, and I can't wait to get it our next year.

#9 Hey Santa.
Our yearly picture with Santa was a huge success this year.  I love it.

While the Christmas magic will slowly begin to fade, the cold weather will creep in, and I am not excited about that.  I am ready for warmer weather, and a house to call my own.

***

Nate, the kids, his mother, and I, hopped into the car on Friday after Christmas and drove all the way to Floyd, New Mexico, to visit some of her uncles,

I have never met this part of the family, just heard a lot about them, and I have been eager to meet them all.

We spend the weekend in a beautiful and cozy farm house. soaking up the fire, great conversation, and new memories,

The kids absolutely loved it there, and they are eager to return.

The area had this weird beauty to it, even though everything was dead due to the winter.  Nate and I enjoyed a little walk around the house, soaking up the sun and crisp clean air.

We will be enjoying the last few days of this year and December.  But I am looking forward to the new year, and all the beautiful things that awaits us.

Happy Monday.
