Our Thanksgiving

This year is the kids and my first Thanksgiving in the States, with family.  The last seven years we were in Germany, and we still did it all, but it was just different.

It was so strange this year, to not have to wake up before the crack of dawn to place a huge turkey in the oven, to not have to rotate it around, and to silent freak out what if this is a flop.

For the first time in a long time, we simply got up and made our traditional Thanksgiving pumpkin waffles, sip on coffee and tea around the dining room table and talk and hang out.

We took our yearly Thanksgiving stay in your jammies all morning picture.

I was also exposed to famous Macy's Thanksgiving parade, yes I know there is a gap in my education. We didn't have TV in Germany much less American TV, and with the time difference these things just kind of slipped away.  It was fun, literally sitting around all day without a worry in the world.

Late afternoon we got all pampered up (well we actually just threw on a pair of jeans) and headed out to Nate's little granny for their Thanksgiving dinner.

I sadly didn't take as many pictures as I should have, well I almost took no pictures.  I was a little overwhelmed with all the people, I met some of Nate's cousin I  have never met before, and saw other ones that I haven't seen since we first started dating (seven years ago) and well the rest I saw when Ian was six months old.  So much catching up to do that my camera stayed on the back burner.

It was a fun evening where we visited and laughed, and ate.  I am actually pretty sure that we all ate way to much, oh and my Ian, my sweet picky Ian went for seconds.  That is amazing!!

I did manage to catch this sweetness - Hayleigh always gets her way and had the ability to wrap anyone around her finger!

Thanksgiving was a success. We were well fed.  The kids had blast playing and they were ready for bed by 7:30 which means I was ready to go to bed as well.

I have so much to be thankful for, Nate and the kids are on top of the list!

Happy Thanksgiving!
