Ian Keith Is Four

Four years ago I had no idea how time flies.  Just like that my handsome little newborn has turned into a little boy, and I still don't know where all this time went.

Just like that, Ian is four.

We celebrated his birthday a few days early with family in dinosaur style.  Ian is so obsessed with dinosaurs this year, and he begged me for a dinosaur cake ever since Hayleigh's ladybug party.

I complied, and I have to say I am pretty impressed with myself and the fact that I made it happen with no cake baking or decorating background.

The day started with his favourite breakfast, french toast.

Gift opening followed.  Can I just say that it melts my mama heart to hear him exclaim with excitement - "oh wow." The gratefulness in his voice, made it all so worth it.  This little boy just melts my heart.

We had a really small party with just family, and some friends.  It was perfect.  I love how well all the kids play together, it is music to my ears.

Hayleigh loves her uncle Jeremy.

We sung to the birthday boy, and had some dinosaur cake.  Ian chose the head.

The big event of the day.  Ian got his very own big bike.  He has been asking for a bike since Germany, but our house wasn't in a safe spot traffic wise ti have one.  His face was so priceless, and it took only one afternoon to master riding his bike.  We have been out for house every day since so he can ride his bike.

Since Ian is older this year and he can comprehend and express himself better, I decided to have a little birthday interview with him.

Four years ago I became a mom for the first time. I could have never prepared my heart or myself for the intense love I felt for you the moment you were placed in my arms. The last four years have been quiet the journey - a true adventure. I can never predict what will happen in the next minutes... in the last four years I have watched you grow, I have watched your personality bloom. I have witness you became a big brother, and fulfilling the role with so much love, grace, and kindness. You have taught me how to love, and sacrifice, you have shown me life and this world through the eyes of a child, and you have shown me how to find the beauty in the unexpected, more more importantly you have shown me how to have faith like a child. You are such a blessing to me, and I am so grateful for the transformation that has taken place in my heart over the last four years, and it all began with you! 

It is my honor to be called your momma!!
