Sunshine And Monte Casino

I am so happy to announce that after two weeks of constant rain and sever flooding all over the place the sun shone this weekend, and I mean did it shine, we had sweat dripping all over the place, but it fell good.  The kids and I have some color now, don't get me wrong, we are still as pale as can be, but we have some red all over, and it feels amazing!!!

We had a great weekend with my parents, and I even managed to sneak away for a couple of hours to get my hair done, I have been waiting for that moment since we first arrived.  I love going to this lady to get my hair done, she has been cutting my hair since I was four and had and I had to sit on a little piece of wood because I was so little I had to be lifted in order to cut my hair.  Though I missed my babies, they had a blast with oupa and ouma, and I am so proud of them for staying without out a problem.

We played outside for hours on end until we were covered in dirt and sweat, and exhausted, but we felt the sun on our faces and we could let a great opportunity pass by.  In fact the kids were so tired they went to bed a whole hour earlier then normal without a problem!!

We set out on another adventure, one of my favourites!! We went to the Monte Casino bird park, and we go every time that I come home because I love birds, and it is such a beautiful and kid friendly garden.  The kids loved it, they ran there little hearts out completely intrigued by all the birds and the beauty of nature.  I hope to instill the nature side of my life in them, like my mama did for me.  This was Hayleigh's first you can roam freely experience, and boy, oh boy, does she need some more training! This girl has energy like it is nobody's business and let's just say that her ears is not in perfect working order yet, so we have lots of work ahead of us.  It could have been worse, and it wasn't horrible, just exhausting.  Thank goodness for oupa!! I am forever grateful for him and the fact that he is actually somewhat fit to keep up with my little people.

My favourite moments about being out and about and doing things with parents - watching them with my kids.  I can't explain the joy that it produces in my heart, and how happy it makes me to see them as grandparents.  I love how comfortable the kids have become and how they want to be with them.  Even though sometimes it makes me a little jealous when they get hurt and they run straight to oupa, and I am willing to share that with him, it is a right of passage for an oupa.

Where is ouma in this picture? Well she is carrier of all good food and snacks, they know when they want sometime to go to here, especially Hayleigh since she is a lover of food like her mama! My mama always and I mean always have snacks and not just any snacks the good kind of snacks.

Watching your parents with your own kids does something to you- something good, it makes you love and appreciate them even more, and it sure as hell makes you kick your own butt for not appreciating them more as a teenager.

We made it home in plenty of time for soccer, ice cream, and sandbox playing.  We were all exhausted after the day we had, and pretty much crashed early again - I would call that a successful day!
