Santa Claus Came To Town

So apparently I am like to write posts and then forget to publish them!  So here is one from the past weekend.

****

Every year we do it.  We get all dressed and ready to go meet Santa.  Why we do it I have no idea, it always ends in tears, and people pointed and laughing out my kids.

The first year we did it with Ian, was so simple and easy.  Just one kid to worry about, and he was a baby, he couldn't care less about who was holding him.

The second year, he freaked out completely.  I have the pictures and it makes me laugh out loud.

The third year I thought well now he has a baby sister, maybe he will remain calm when he sees her all chill in Santa's lap, well not the case, we had fits of screams, and it continued until Santa so graciously offered him a sucker, he took it and ran.

Fast forward to this year.  I dreaded it, I thought great we are going to have two upset kids, so I sweet talked it all the way there, oh we will go get ice-cream after and Santa will be so excited to see you - Ian bought it, Hayleigh not so much.  I just think it is a fun tradition to get pictures with Santa, and to line them up year after year and smile.

I was so surprise.  As soon as we went into the building and Ian saw him, he ran straight to him, yelling "mom, mom, are you coming, hurry it is the Christmas man" - let me just say I was so impressed, Santa got a hug, and a high five.

Hayleigh on the other hand hated every minute of it, we asked her nicely to join her brother and she just look at us and said no. We finally convinced her but she still cried, refused to not have her paci, and as soon as the flash went of she was done, jumped out his lap and waved good-bye.

We of course followed through with the ice-cream promise.  It turned into a fun and beautiful little family day.  I love these days, and I love my little family,  I live for family, tradition, and creating memories.

Christmas is in four days, and I can't tell who is more excited, the kids or I.

Happy Saturday!
