I have to admit I am pretty decent in many things, cookie baking is not one of them. I still need lots and lots of practice in that department. But every holiday we pull out the relevant cookie cutters and we cut sticky dough into a shapes, we bake them [never the perfect amount of time,] and we decorate them. This Christmas was no exception, besides the fact that my friend Jessica have a yummy sugar cookie recipe {recipe is on her blog} and she shared all her cheater tips on her
blog.
I love creating memories for the kids, and making our own little family traditions. Recording their sweet little lives, and the joy they bring to my world. They keep me going, they keep life interesting, and they make me smile.
Hayleigh was into the cookie cutting for about 3 minutes, and then she decided that unpacking the drawers are way more fun and interesting. Ian on the other hand stayed glued to his seat till the very end. We have decided that we need to get a bigger variety of Christmas cookie cutters - I really want a snowman!!!
I love how into things is he getting, I fall more and more in love with this age, where he is hungry to learn and explore, and to try new things. I love watching him figure something out, and watching the little click of it makes sense happen [usually after a couple of tries.]
I was excited for an easy way to decorate cookies - I have never really done it before because it seems complicated and messy. But thanks to same great tips and advice, it went pretty smooth, even Ian attempted it a little.
The final product was fun and exciting, and I am so very proud. We loaded some on a plate and took it over to our nice landlords [they brought the kids Christmas gifts the night before]. and then we put some in the freezer for Santa, and the rest we will be devouring in the next couple of days.
We still have a few other Christmas activities we would like to do. I love the motivation and energy I have during this time of the year, it makes life interesting.
Happy Weekend.
